The Federal Open Market Committee releases minutes from its last meeting Wednesday at 2 p.m. EST.

That could take a backseat to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, monetary policy symposium on Friday, given that this will be the first monetary policy event attended in Jackson Hole by Chairwoman Janet Yellen.

Yellen is slated to lead off the event, taking about labor markets. Mario Draghi, the head of the ECB, will also be in attendance and speaking at the event.

In the past, Jackson Hole has been a conduit for announcing meaningful policy change, and may provide some insight into when the Fed might start hiking interest rates. With recent inflation indicators such as the CPI remaining subdued, market analysts may be looking for a continued dovish tone out of Yellen.
