Germany's January flash inflation data was sharply lower versus the December data and below estimates. Inflation continues deteriorate in the engine of Europe's economy. The CPI down was 1.0% on the month, down 0.3% on the year. Much of the decline is from lower energy prices , while some of the decline may also be from demographic shifts in the German economy as population growth stagnates.
