Check Point Software Technologies And RAD Align To Provide Cybersecurity Solution

Check Point Software Technologies CHKP and RAD have revealed that they joined hands to offer an end-to-end cyber security solution protecting utility operational technology networks. According to the company, the process would eliminate RTU and SCADA equipment vulnerabilities, as well as, defend against cyber-attacks on the network's control and data planes.

The company's VP of Business Development, Alon Kantor, said, "Check Point's ICS/SCADA cyber security solutions provide advanced threat prevention and comprehensive protocol support to ensure vital assets such as power generation facilities, traffic control systems, water treatment systems and factories are never compromised. Our partnership with RAD adds a new way to deliver these advanced capabilities to our customers."

Similarly, RAD's VP of Marketing and Business Development, Ulik Broida, said, "Cyber threats to critical infrastructure have become a matter of national security. RAD and Check Point have harnessed their considerable expertise to deliver a joint cyber security solution that provides the ultimate protection for power utility networks."

Check Point said the solution, which was part of RAD Service Assured Networking portfolio, integrated its ICS Security Gateway with RAD's secure-by-design networking platforms. The company added that it securely managed all electronic access to the substation's electronic security perimeter (ESP) and protected the cyber assets within it from external and internal attacks. That included ‘man-in-the-middle' attempts, session hijacking, source-spoofing and distributed denial of service (DDoS) assaults.

The company indicated that the joint solution fits into any network, either one that is built using RAD's networking platforms, or as an overlay add-on for existing networks.

Shares of the company traded 0.22 percent down on Wednesday.
