US Stock Futures Mostly Higher; Crude Oil Drops

US stock futures traded mostly higher in early pre-market trade. US stock markets will close at 1:00 p.m. ET. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 8 points to 17,794.0, while the Standard & Poor's 500 index futures rose 2.25 points to 2,090.25. Futures for the Nasdaq 100 index gained 14.25 points to 4,691.50. Crude oil futures declined 2.18 percent to trade at $42.10 a barrel.
A Peek Into Global Markets
European markets were mixed today, with the Spanish Ibex Index rising 0.40 percent, STOXX Europe 600 Index dropping 0.02 percent and German DAX 30 index gaining 0.04 percent. French CAC 40 Index climbed 0.13 percent and London's FTSE 100 Index fell 0.15 percent. In Asian markets, Japan's Nikkei Stock Average fell 0.30 percent, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index fell 1.87 percent, China's Shanghai Composite Index dipped 5.48 percent and India's BSE Sensex jumped 0.65 percent.
