Private sector employment increased by 213,000 jobs from August to September, according to the September ADP National Employment Report released Wednesday morning, edging out estimates of an increase of 210,000.

This represents six straight months of 200,000 plus jobs gains. August numbers were revised slightly lower, going from 204,000 to 202,000.

Initial jobless claims are on Thursday's docket, with the expectation of 297,000 versus the previous week's 293,000. Initial jobless claims are compiled weekly to show the number of individuals who filed for unemployment insurance for the first time.

On Friday, the Bureau of Labor Statistics will release the anticipated NFP jobs report for September, with expectations of 215,000 new nonfarm payroll jobs and an unemployment rate of 6.1 percent. Nonfarm payrolls for August were noticeably weak at 142,000 new jobs, although August is a month that normally shows upward revisions.
