Lean Hog Futures Mixed

October lean hogs are trading at 51.57, down 0.12 cents /lb. December lean hogs are trading at 46.67, down 0.02 cents/lb. February lean hogs are trading at 51.27, up 0.07 cents/lb. Lean hog futures are trading steady just after the open. Wednesday's USDA hog slaughter was 440,000 head. The total for the week is now 1,321,000 head, versus 1,318,000 head last week and 1,283,000 head a year ago. The USDA Quarterly All hogs and Pigs report is scheduled for release Friday September 30th at 3:00 p.m. ET.
