Tesla Delivered More Cars Than Expected

Tesla closed up 4.04% on Thursday after the company announced that it had delivered more cars than expected. Analysts were
very impressed
, but Citron Research thought there was something nefarious going on:
"I think it's a mistake to read some type of stock manipulation into this," Rob Enderle, principal analyst at Enderle Group,
told Benzinga
. "But you do realize we're dealing with a very unique vehicle. They're limited by the battery capacity."

Apple Music Could Be The Path To Apple's Rumored TV Service

Apple Inc.AAPL
launched its highly anticipated on-demand streaming music service this week. FBR Capital Markets analyst Daniel Ives thinks it could be Apple's first step toward launching a full-scale TV service. "We view Apple as a major share gainer in the streaming music arena given the company's golden brand and unrivaled installed base of customers," Ives
told Benzinga
. "It's going to be a battle, but we believe over time Apple will be successful in streaming music and open the door to broader streaming services (e.g. TV services)."

Apple Announced New Battery Replacement Warranty, But Is It Bad For The Environment?

AppleCare+ customers will now be able to get a new battery as soon as the old one drops below 80 percent capacity. This is great for consumers who always want the best battery possible, but is it bad for the environment? "I do think with small batteries -- any battery that Apple's gonna take in -- my guess is they have a re-processing plan," Apple expert Sean Udall (
@UdallTechStrat
) told
Benzinga
. "I do think it's a lot better if companies are taking ownership of old batteries and doing something with them -- reprocessing them."

Xiaomi Moved Into The Brazilian Market

The world's
most valuable startup
, Xiaomi, rose to power after selling a record-breaking number of phones in China. The company hopes it can re-create that success in Brazil, but analysts have some doubts. "I still think they're gonna have a hard time competing outside of China," Udall, who serves as the CIO of Quantum Trading Strategies and author of The TechStrat Report,
told Benzinga
. "I think the more business they do outside of China opens them to more lawsuits." Even without the risk of lawsuits, Xiaomi's global success is hardly set in stone. "There are a number of dominant brands here already," Tigress Financial Partners analyst Ivan Feinseth told Benzinga. "It would take a long time [for Xiaomi] to gain traction and brand recognition." At the time of this writing, Louis Bedigian had no position in the equities mentioned in this report.
